Sarcoidosis Answers for Physicians, Nurses and Patients

Here at SarcInfo, between 2002 and 2004, we identified the cause of Sarcoidosis, and successfully trialled a curative antimicrobial therapy. During 2005 and 2006 the US FDA designated the antibiotics Clindamycin and Minocycline as Orphan Products in the treatment of Sarcoidosis, and studies are ongoing elsewhere.

 Treatment of Tick-Borne Pulmonary Disease

The article "Tick-Borne Pulmonary Disease, Update on Diagnosis and Management" from July 1999 CHEST about tick-borne pulmonary disease is timely, in view of the recent Swedish research linking a tick-born rickettsia to sarcoidosis granulomas.

The article says ticks can carry viruses, bacteria, protozoa and rickettsiae as human pathogens. It has an organized presentation of the symptoms (including pulmonary) of tick-borne diseases, radiographic manifestations and treatment.

Keep in mind that this article was written before rickettsia was linked to sarcoidosis. It makes sense that there may be numerous corollaries between these and sarcoid symptoms and treatment. It seems that way to me, reading through the symptoms! I've never run across anything so very similar to sarcoidosis, have you?
