Sarcoidosis Answers for Physicians, Nurses and Patients

Here at SarcInfo, between 2002 and 2004, we identified the cause of Sarcoidosis, and successfully trialled a curative antimicrobial therapy. During 2005 and 2006 the US FDA designated the antibiotics Clindamycin and Minocycline as Orphan Products in the treatment of Sarcoidosis, and studies are ongoing elsewhere.

My mother is 56 yr old white female with hx of hypertension and sarcoidosis (stable with stable PFT's and CXR over past 5-6 years). About 2 years ago we began to notice 10-30 sec peroids of altered awareness, lip smacking, sweating, with lip cyanosis. She is completely unaware of the incident. We think she is having these episodes at least 2 times week.
Her FamilyMD has her on Calcium channel blocker for blood pressure control ans on Calcium and Vit D for bone protection post menopausal

My question:

I understand she my not benefit from Calcium and Vit D supp.??

Is a calcium channel blocker approp. for treating HTN in sarcoid patients??

Do you think her sarcoidosis or meds could be causing her complex partial seizures??? (MRI normal)
